Competitive
Analysis

I conducted a competitive analysis of existing products providing the closest services which include Whistle app and GRMI

Strengths

Whistle app facilitates reporting of dangerous vehicles, dangerous driving, traffic congestion and report accidents
GRMI facilitates reporting of flooding in a locality

Weaknesses
Whistle app can lead to conflict as users are meant to report other road users that have expired documents in exchange for financial rewards.
GRMI survey include redundant questions that users may not be able to accurately estimate e.g How many damaged/flooded buildings

User Research

Prevalence & Impact: Nigeria ranks near the bottom globally in road quality (score: 2.4/7). Potholes are the leading complaint (33% in surveys), linked to rising crashes (7% increase in 2024) and fatalities.

User Frustrations: Widespread complaints on social media describe roads as "death traps." Drivers feel helpless, with informal reporting (e.g., tweets, calls) rarely leading to action due to distrust in authorities.

Current Behaviors: No national crowdsourced app exists; reporting is manual and ineffective. Users desire simple tools with photo uploads, location tagging, and status tracking.

Feasibility: Smartphone penetration ~60% (140M+ users by 2025), with high mobile internet growth, supports app adoption—especially on low-end Android devices.
